India played their first test match between 25 -28 June, 1932 against England at the Lord's. An interesting thing to note was that this was a three day test match, with 26th being a rest day.
Match stats: England won the toss and batted first - putting up 259 runs in their first innings. The India in their first innings were all out for a score of 189, giving England a 70 runs lead. England declared their second innings at 275 for 8, giving India a stiff target of 346 runs to win. The Indian team were however bowled out for a score of 187 - giving England a 158 runs win.
