Who Took The First Wicket In ODI Cricket?

Alan Thomson of Australia took the first wicket in ODI (One Day International) cricket when he dismissed Geoff Boycott of England for the score of 8.

This was during the first ever ODI match; played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australia on 5th January 1971. In the end Australia won the match (40 over a side contest) by 5 wickets.

Who Scored The First Century In T20 Cricket?

Chris Gayle of West Indies became the first person to score a century in International T20 (twenty-twenty) Cricket when smashed 117 runs of 57 balls in a match played against South Africa on 11 September, 2007 at the New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg (SA). Brief match stats : Batting first, West Indies posted a mammoth total of 205 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs; thanks to some fine hitting from Chris Gayle and Devon Smith. The South Africans in their reply came out all guns blazing and with Hershelle Gibbs and Justin Kemp putting up fine performances with the bat, overhauled the West Indian total with as many as 14 balls to spare. Gibbs, who remained undefeated, top scored for South Africa with 90 runs off just 55 deliveries. Kemp too remained undefeated at 45 runs off just 22 deliveries. South Africa won the match by 8 wickets.

First Woman To Score A Double Century In Test Cricket

Mithali Raj of India is the first woman cricketer to score a double century in Test cricket . She scored 214 runs in the first Indian innings of the match played against England at Taunton between 14 - 18 Aug, 2002. Brief Match Stats: Batting first England put up 329 runs in the first innings. Laura Newton top scored for England with 98 while Neetu David took four wickets for India. India in their first Innings, boosted by a fine double hundred by Mithali Raj, piled up 467 runs on board. England were 198 for 6 in their second innings when the match ended in a draw.
