Indian Cricketer Virat Kohli played his Debut ODI (One Day International) match against Sri Lanka on 18 August 2008 at the Rangiri International Stadium at Dambulla, Sri Lanka.
Opening the batting for India, Virat could score only 12 runs that day as he was given out LBW to Nuwan Kulasekara in the eighth over of the innings.
Match Stats : Batting first India posted a mere 146 runs on board. Sri Lanka chased down the target easily in 34.5 overs and won the match by 8 wickets. Man of the Match was awarded to Ajantha Mendis of Sri Lanka for claiming three crucial Indian wickets.
