Who Scored The First Century In Test Cricket?

Charles Bannerman of Australia scored the First Century in Test Match Cricket when he hit 165 runs against England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. He incidentally is also the first run scorer in test cricket

This was the first ever test match; played during 15 - 19 March, 1877. Bannerman had to retire hurt at the score of 165.

England could put up only 196 runs in their first innings. In the second innings, Australia were bowled out for a 104. Chasing a target of 154 runs to win, England fell short and were bundled out for a score of 108. Tom Kendall took 7 wickets for Australia; who won the game by 45 runs.
